Next talented artist for Bad Life is Mao. “Harken/Emeralds” is the stunning debut EP which was first played by Jaymo & Andy George on BBC Radio 1. “Harken” is an amazing tracks. Heared it about 20 times the last hours and I’m still speachless. Just listen.

Mao was abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of an orphanage. There he lives under the guardianship of a wicked alcoholic matron, who although a bit of gilf, subjects her foundlings to endless beatings and manual labour. Mao’s only solace is found at night, when he hides under his bunk, cracks open his laptop and starts to craft some of the most astonishing, forward thinking electronic music that we’ve ever heard. The occasional carrier pidgeon will land on the window outside the Bad Life office, clasping a USB stick filled with dreams of a better life. If this EP doesn’t make your jaw drop, then do you even have ears? Honestly, check whats on the side of your head – it’s possible they may have been pilfered.

After a super successful year 2011 with releases on Bad Life, Southern Fried or remixes for Discobelle, Lektroluv and Boemklatsch – NT89 delivers his new bomb on Fool’s Gold Records. The Voices EP is a three track EP with the title track “Voices”, “Decoder” and “Hot Signal”. “Like a George Kranz Din Da Da for the club generation. Feeling it.” – that’s what Annie Mac said about the release and I guess it’s the perfect description of “Voices”. Unbelievable good title track.

But as I’m hyped by “Voices” so I’m not impressed by the other originals. “Hot Signal” is deep, powerfull and exactly on point to be classified as a “future techno” track, but I miss that certain something. Which is the same for the last track called “Decoder”. Just my thoughts. Sorry Nima – anyway – Voices is too good!

The man with the moustache and the suspenders is Borussia. A French, Paris based producer who gain my attention some months ago. I’m glad that I’ve discovered him on soundcloud cause his productions have this special deepness like “Bucarest In Peace” or his powerfull and raving “Pressure” remix which released a few days ago. LM: Thanks for taking your time and answer the following questions, so please give our readers a little introduce.

Hi peeps, I’m Borussia, I wear suspenders, my english accent is perfect, and you should listen to my songs.

LM: So what does a typical day look like for Borussia?

He thanks the girl, tries to go back home, eat his famous promodel pasta bake cold leftovers, smoke a cigaret, write down some poetry, then make game changing beats for the rest of the day.

LM: Can you point out any differences that distinguish you and your sound from other DJs and producers?

LM: You mentioned that you’re not into making mixtapes, is this because you’re influenced by the dynamics of a live crowd setting or would you rather be working on originals/remixes?

It’s mostly because for technical reasons, I’m just really bad at making mixtapes, so I can keep my unreleased secret weapons to show off in da club. And yes, I’m already wasting enough time trying to make decent songs.

LM: A lot of artists these days are overhyped on many blogs and social networks, on the other hand you’ve been kind of non existant on the whole blogosphere scene, so do you try to distance yourself from that and let the music speak for yourself?

Nope, but now I think I should fire my manager. I’m not particularly distant with social networks, I post lolcat videos and memes as often as I can, but of course, I’d like my songs to fix more about me than my tweets.

LM: I’m a big fan of the work you did on Keith & Supabeatz Pressure Remix EP as well as originals like “Bucarest in Peace”, so let me ask you what can we expect from Borussia in the near future?

You can expect some sophisticated bad taste.

The two Belgians Le Petit Belge & Le Cheval released their first own EP on record label “Midnight Munchis“. After several remixes in 2011 for The Subs, Armand Van Helden & Steve Aoki & Mason, Le Petit Belge & Le Cheval starts with their own originals. This Chicago based guy tranform the well known original to a datchy dancefloor killer. Really love the grove. First heared it on discodDemons.com. Stay tuned, I guess there will comes more by Professor Kliq.

The Germans love Sweat Dreams, espacially it’s played by Ostblockschlampen. The duo played it on several festivals and the crowd went crazy on this one. Grab it for free. Rave on!

Some would call it bang0r or something like that. I would say it’s a cool electro hose track. Not that EPIC SHIT, but nice.

New talent to introduce is the Canadian with German roots – Volta. This 23 years old Toronto based DJ and producer gain my attention with his amazing remixes which are available for download on his soundcloud!

He has been producing for one year and started with two official remixes for Germany Germany. The demo for his debut EP “It Comes in Waves” crossed paths with Raving Loony Records on Soundcloud in May 2011 and was released in November 2011, receiving support from SCNTST, John Roman, Rob de Large, Mendoza.

After the release of his debut EP, he get to know a lot of very talented producers and decide to release a remix EP on Raving Loony Records. Rob de Large was the first artist to do a remix and actually suggested he choose the track “Keyboard-47″ for the remix EP. Then he asked NEEDS from Paris who he previously did a remix for and a very talented producer from Columbus, Dunjinz, if they were interested. Rob de Large also recommended Crumps from Australia!

The “Keyboard-47 Remixes” will be released exclusively on Beatport Feb. 16, 2012 on all major stores like iTunes, Juno Download, etc. Get a preview here…
